When Baptist Health South Florida asked Designapolis to design their beverage vending dispensers, they were inspired to have some creative fun with the project. Instead of using the usual stale, splashing water shots, they saw an opportunity to turn the monoliths into an ‘art in public spaces’ campaign. Leonardo’s iconic masterpiece, the Mona Lisa, was the first work of art featured. Other well-known artists, along with unknown local artists to support the local art community, were also to be highlighted.

The goal was to bring a smile to hospital visitors and expose them to a little beauty and culture in unexpected, sterile spaces. The CEO was impressed with the out-of-the-box approach and promptly had them distributed throughout Baptist Health area locations.

In the 1480’s Leonardo da Vinci wrote, “Man is the model of the world,” and one of his famous drawings, Vitruvian Man, embodies that idea. Taking a cue from the system’s name, Designapolis used it as a starting point to lend some warmth to robotic surgery. The da Vinci Robotic System makes complex operations more precise and less traumatic by using state-of-the-art technology to virtually extend the surgeon’s eyes and hands into the patient’s body. The marketing pieces successfully present the procedure in a calming and less mechanical way.

You may not play basketball like the Miami Heat star, Dwayne Wade, but you can have access to the same orthopedic doctors. The ‘go where the pros go’ for your sports injuries and orthopedic surgery related needs is the message Designapolis highlights in this project. It clearly communicates the benefits of top-rate technology, treatment and services that are available to non-celebs at this world-class medical center in Southern Florida.
